The Bhunjun Group was set up in the early 1960’s by Soodursan Bhunjun as a pioneer in the construction field and real estate development. Over the years, the Group has grown at an exponential rate and has been involved in several major development projects on the island. With a flawless track record of nearly 50 years of construction experience, the Bhunjun Group has undertaken major building, civil engineering and property development projects for both public and private sector clients and is proudly classified among the Top 100 companies in Mauritius.

 

The Group has played a major role in the development of Mauritius through its contribution to numerous landmark projects nationwide including, The University of Mauritius, The Waterpark Leisure Village, The Cyber Tower 1, Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre, Voile D’Or Resort & Spa to name only a few.

Chairman - Soodursan Bhunjun, G.O.S.K

 

A self-made man with more than 50 years of experience in the construction sector, S. Bhunjun started his career as a builder in the 1950’s, working on small houses and gradually moving up the ladder to more important jobs. He started his own company in the late 1960’s and has since then been a leading figure in the industry. His reputation among builders and contractors is unequalled in the local marketplace. S. Bhunjun is today the Chairman of the Bhunjun Group.

 

S. Bhunjun has served as the President of the Building & Civil Engineering Contractor’s Association (BACECA) from its inception in 2000. He is a member of various socio-cultural organisations and is a respected citizen of Mauritius. He has been elevated to the rank of “Grand Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (G.O.S.K)”.

 

Chief Executive Officer - Veekram Bhunjun

 

Veekram Bhunjun, CEO of the Bhunjun Group is holder of a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from the Imperial College, U.K. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers of Mauritius.

 

V. Bhunjun started his career as Site Engineer with the company in 1990.  He is the founder and the driving force behind the setting up of Betonix Ltd and Fine Crush Ltd, subsidiary companies of the Group.  With nearly twenty years in the contruction and property development fields, V. Bhunjun has extensive experience in building and civil engineering works. As the CEO of the Group, V. Bhunjun oversees all projects undertaken by the Group and has been integrally involved in its growth over its successful history.  

 

Managing Director - Amal Bhunjun

 

Amal Bhunjun, Managing Director of the Group is holder of a Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying from University of South Bank, U.K.  He is a member of the Institution of Quantity Surveyors of Mauritius.

 

A. Bhunjun joined the Group in 1995, and since then has been involved on all major projects undertaken by the Group. He has been the Project Manager of several projects undertaken by the Group assisting with the planning, directing and coordinating of all types of construction in order to ensure a timely completion to the project on all fronts.

 

Director – Dinesh Kalikaparsd

 

An Accountant by profession, Dinesh Kalikaparsad started in Bhunjun & Sons Ltd in 1990. From Accountant, D. Kalikaparsad was promoted to Group Financial Director in 2004. He has a thorough knowledge of construction accounting.

 

D. Kalikaparsad is responsible for directing and managing the Group’s financial resources in order to ensure continuous growth and long-term viability of the Group’s resources.
